Below are some questions I often receive. If you can’t find the answers you’re looking for here, just reach out and ask!

What's different about Above Average Nutrition compared to other nutrition coaching services?

At Above Average Nutrition, we take a realistic approach to your well-being, focusing not just on your diet but also on you and how you’re feeling, your environment, your work stress, your home life, where you are at right now. It all matters.

Using the principles of Precision Nutrition’s Deep Health, we go beyond typical “calories in, calories out” models to dig deep into your relationship with food, training, and even your mindset. We don’t believe in quick fixes and there’s no cookie-cutter programs here; we work closely with you to create sustainable, lifelong habits. It might take longer than you think but I guarantee you it will be worth it.

I’m not an athlete, so can I be a client with Above Average Nutrition?

Our coaching is especially suited for women who are tired of temporary solutions and are ready for lasting change. We’re not out to train the next national athlete. My focus is to improve the lives of the busy mum, a business owner, a professional stuck in corporate life, or anyone juggling multiple roles; our approach is designed to fit seamlessly into your life right now.

If you’re ready to invest in a comprehensive plan that addresses all aspects of your well-being, then you’re in the right place. It’s really cool to have the body you want and maybe even the number that you want on the scales but the real flex in life is being able to feel confident in your skin and being able to participate in the fun stuff!

What kinds of plans or packages do you offer?

We offer a couple of options with 12 weeks being the absolute minimum.  In saying that, we’re not running a 12-week challenge.  This will most likely take longer than you want but if it’s for life then it needs to stick with you.

You might choose to do 12 weeks and then sign up again.  This is actually what most clients do. We also offer customised corporate wellness packages aimed at boosting team productivity and morale.

How much time do I need to commit to see results?

The time commitment varies depending on the individual and the program. However, we emphasise the importance of consistent, small actions to bring about lasting change. Weekly check-ins and regular tracking help us fine-tune your program to ensure you’re progressing toward your goals.

Your weekly check-in is comprehensive.  You get out of it what you put in.  It’s a tool used for self-reflection and then your coach will come back to you with feedback.  The feedback is based on your answers and is for you.  Some weeks you might need some calling out and other weeks you might be told to ease up on yourself.  It’s all about how honest you are as to how much you’ll get from it.

How does the coaching process work?

Once you sign up, we’ll start with a ‘getting to know you’ form, and from there we’ll have a call to help me understand where you’re at, what challenges you have, and what you hope to gain; this might be weight loss, it might be muscle gain or improved performance.

From there, we create a personalised plan that includes not just nutrition advice but also lifestyle and behavioural changes. You’ll have weekly check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps, ensuring you’re always moving forward.

What kind of support can I expect from Above Average Nutrition?

You can expect comprehensive, ongoing support each week with your check in.  In addition to your scheduled check-ins, you’re free to message your coach with any quick questions.

Our aim is to provide you not just with a plan but with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to sustain your new habits long term.  You won’t get a meal plan.  You’re in control of what you eat.  You will get guidance around knowing what to eat.
